In August, the group will be reading Colored Television by Danzy Senna.

A Washington Post Top 10 Book of the Year and a New York Times Notable Book of 2024, Colored Television is a comedic,  "exhilarating, yet poignant riff on the struggling artist as a wannabe middle-aged sellout. Jane is desperately trying to break out of genteel poverty through her writing, by finishing her second novel, an unsaleable centuries-spanning saga of mixed-race history she’s been working on for a decade, and parlaying that into tenure in her college teaching gig." When that fails, Jane launches a  bid to become a TV writer, thrusting her into the orbit of a powerful and ethically challenged producer.
